Rollerball Notice We have recently had a number of customers order rollerballs and not opt to purchase the recommended #1900 box upgrade for packaging of rollerballs. This packaging is highly recommended so that the instruction card for properly inserting the refill cartridge into the rollerball is clearly visible when the box is opened. We cannot insert the refill cartridges prior to shipment since the ink is more fluid than ballpoint refills and could therefore leak during shipment. If rollerballs have been shipped in the individual #1400 fold box, the cartridge insertion instructions are always included in the master carton, but are bulk packed and are to be distributed with each rollerball. An additional notice is put on the bulk packed cards that indicates that our mechanical warranty will be voided if the insertion instructions are not followed and results in cracked nibs when the item is pulled apart instead of unscrewed. We sell through authorized promotional products distributors, and they are asked to explain the importance of distributing the instruction cards to their buyer if the recommended #1900 box is not purchased. Unfortunately, if the distributor does not inform their buyer of this, or if the buyer does not choose to distribute the cards that are included with their order, then the end user may have difficulty inserting the cartridge and break the nib. We apologize for the problem and frustration that end users have had when they receive a new rollerball and are unable to properly insert the cartridge. Since shipping rollerballs in the #1400 fold box is clearly causing problems for the ultimate recipient, we will no longer offer this option—even if our distributor gives us the ok in writing to do so. We are replacing/repairing any rollerballs that are returned to our service department as we do not believe some end recipients received the instruction cards that were supposed to be distributed to them and therefore cannot be at fault for breaking the nib. If you can remove the nib section from the barrel, please contact us and we can send you out a new nib. If not, please send your rolllerball to our repair department. |
