Standard Fonts, Laser Logos, & Artwork

There are two options for engraving on metal items: standard laser text engraving or laser logo engraving. With standard laser engraving, you choose from 9 different typestyles. This is your most economical and simple choice. Your second option is laser logo engraving where your actual logo, image or corporate typestyle is engraved into the metal. There are additional artwork requirements, and a one-time $30.00 (G) set-up charge associated with laser logo engraving. Please refer to Laser Logo Engraving.

Standard Font Laser Engraving

First, let’s start with simple and economical standard font engraving which is available for our Colour, Revere, Tuscany, Monogram, and Signature Collections and our Jazz and Maxx Series of writing instruments. A maximum of 28 characters and spaces can be engraved per line. The engraving appears on the barrel of our USA Collections and the cap of the Jazz and Maxx pens. Most Gallery Gift Items can be engraved, although the maximum number of characters will vary from item to item, depending on the size of the copy area. Options and Pricing for Standard Font Laser Engraving

Your first line of standard font engraving is always free on any of our engravable items, and this line can be a repetitive message or individual names. There is no extra cost for personalization. So, yes, that means we can process an order and engrave a different name on each item. And it's free! (Catalog minimum order quantities must be met for each series.)
Two lines of repetitive copy are offered at no charge on items from the Colour, Revere, Tuscany, and Monogram Collections, on our Jazz and Maxx pens, and on all engravable items in our Gift Gallery. To qualify as repeat copy, the same two lines of text must be engraved on all units within the order. If one line of text is repetitive, and the other line will vary within the order, a charge of $1.00 (G) per line, per piece will be incurred to process the second line of copy. The second line of copy will be centered directly beneath the first line of engraving.
   Third and fourth lines of standard font engraving are offered on writing instruments from our Photo Logo Collections. Please see Standard Font Engraving on Writing Instruments for additional details and pricing on multiple lines of standard font engraving.
   Also, all engraving is done at the time the order is placed and processed. Due to our production methods, items cannot be held for future engraving.

Standard Engraving Fonts

To avoid spelling errors and confusion with upper/lower case letters, we request that you submit a typewritten list of names or copy to be engraved. Keep in mind that lists typed in CAPS will be engraved in caps, and lists submitted in upper & lower case will be processed in upper & lower case.
   Fonts and typestyles other than the nine presented below are considered custom and may be run as a laser logo if artwork is submitted. Please see Laser Logo Engraving for pricing and information.

Laser Logo Engraving

For brand promotions or corporate awareness programs, the perfect solution is engraving your actual logo, image or a customized typestyle on the selected promotional item. This can be accomplished with our laser logo engraving option. Laser logo engraving creates a lasting impression on any product.

Options and Pricing for Laser Logo Engraving

Our high-speed lasers eliminate your per-piece running charges. A one-time programming fee of $30.00 (G) will be charged the first time that you run a laser logo. Non-standard typestyles or fonts are considered a laser logo and are subject to the $30.00 (G) set-up charge the first time that each different copy or text is run.
   Laser logo engraving is not available for less than minimum order quantities.

Artwork Requirements for Laser Logo Engraving

All artwork for engraved laser logos on our metal items must be submitted in high-contrast black and white format. Faxed artwork is not acceptable. Also, artwork should not be sent "to size" since it will need to be blown-up prior to processing and will likely require significant touch-up and make-ready charges. Larger art provides better resolution for detailed barrel engraving. We take your larger-sized art and reduce it to fit the available copy engraving area. Whether submitting black and white camera-ready artwork by mail, digitally or by e-mail, the size for optimum reproduction is 2” x 4”.
   We can accept both PC and Macintosh file formats. Artwork should be sent as EPS, TIFF or AI files to expedite your order and avoid possible artwork or make-ready charges. Other file formats may be acceptable; please call our customer service specialists with your file requirements prior to submission. Artwork may be e-mailed to: artwork@garlandpen.com.
