Stock Gift Packets

Dress up your promotions or gift programs with convenient stock gift packets. Like greeting cards, the covers are preprinted with different messages and artwork appropriate for a variety of occasions. Open the packet, and you’ll find a dark-grey, flocked foam panel in which your individual pen or combination set is inserted. You can leave the left panel blank for a handwritten message or talk to us about imprinting the inside of the packet with a custom message or logo.

All packets are inserted and shipped in a clear presentation sleeve which will get your gift packet noticed. The custom designed box has a tuck-in tab closure that will securely deliver your selected writing instruments and/or accessories. It also allows business cards or inserts to be safely included inside your packet. Our clear case offers optimum presentation value as well as protection during shipping for your Garland products.

Gift packets add exceptional value and will enhance any program or promotion. Stock gift packets can be used for many occasions, including employee awards and recognition, gifts for associations’ new members, special packaging for direct marketing premiums, fundraising, holiday gifts or simply to say “thank you” to your customers and clients. Tie a ribbon around the packet, or add a bow, for a truly distinctive and personalized presentation.

Garland’s stock gift packets are designed to hold your choice of an individual pen or a combination set of two writing instruments. All pens, pencils, and rollerballs from our Photo Logo Collections can be combined in our gift packets. Jazz and Maxx grip pens may also be inserted in these packets. A quick suggestion: the front cover of a plain white gift packet provides a great platform for attaching decals, patches, or other items that can be held in place with a permanent sticky backing or repositionable glue. Attach membership cards or badges to the front. Add bright colored stickers or ribbons for 1ST Place, 2ND Place, etc. Placing a decal with your group or organization’s logo on the front of the packet is an economical way to customize your presentation, especially when only small quantities are needed. Be creative with your next gift or award! When you purchase plain white packets you can dress them up individually, or in small groups, quickly and inexpensively.

Combination Gift Packets: Combination gift packets are also available for packaging a writing instrument with selected items from the Garland Gift Gallery. The Satin Nickel Pull-Apart Key Tag, Satin Nickel Square Key Tag, Polished Chrome Teardrop Key Tag, Stainless Steel Key Chain/Tool, and Lapel Pins can all be inserted in our gift packets next to your writing instrument. Please add $.10 (x) per piece for die cutting to add the additional item to the stock gift packet cuts.

Pricing

Stock Gift Packet with Blank Inside Cover: There is no minimum order quantity for stock gift packets. For example, you could order 100 writing instruments, and have 20 of them inserted in gift packets and the balance shipped in our standard #1400 fold box packaging.

Stock gift packets are offered at $1.25 (G) per packet, without inside imprint copy.

Stock Gift Packet with Custom Imprint on Inside Cover: The minimum order quantity for a custom inside imprint on a stock packet is 100 units. The cost is $1.25 (G) per packet, plus the imprint charge listed below. This charge is based on the quantity ordered and the number of imprint colors for your inside message.

These charges are for simple imprint copy in any of our six standard imprint ink colors. Simple imprint means that different colors do not overlap, touch or abut each other (no close registration or process color), and colors do not have to print to the edge of the packet (no bleeds). Therefore, color separated artwork is not required. We provide the prep work for simple imprint copy, and all set-up charges are included in the per piece imprint charge, as long as camera-ready, black and white artwork is submitted, sized to fit in the 3” x 5” copy area.

Artwork for Imprinted Gift Packets

Imprinting on Inside Cover: To imprint your message on the inside cover, two options are available. You can submit camera-ready artwork or have Garland typeset your copy and layout your artwork. Each stock gift packet has an inherent vertical or horizontal orientation. Your inside copy will be positioned accordingly, based on the packet selected, unless clearly noted otherwise on your order.

Imprinting with Custom Logo: If your imprinted message contains a custom logo or you desire a specific typestyle, it is best that you send us camera-ready, black and white artwork to size. The overall panel dimensions are 4 3/8” x 5 15/16”. The maximum imprint area for the panel is 3” x 5”. This is also the quickest and most economical way to imprint your logo, copy, or message since no additional prep or set-up charges will be incurred to run the inside imprint copy in a stock ink color. Unless you are selecting a standard imprint ink color, all PMS colors must be clearly indicated on the artwork. A colored copy of the imprint artwork should also be provided for reference if your inside imprint copy requires more than one ink color.

When you send us artwork for imprinting, please provide high-contrast black and white camera-ready art. Faxed artwork is not acceptable. If art is to be submitted electronically or digitally, we can accept both PC and Macintosh file formats. Artwork should be sent as EPS, TIFF or AI files to expedite your order and avoid possible artwork or make-ready charges. Other file formats may be acceptable; please call our customer service specialists with your file requirements prior to submission. Artwork may be e-mailed to: artwork@garlandpen.com. Please include your company name and state, your purchase order number, contact name, and phone number to avoid delays in your order. If you choose to have Garland typeset artwork, we will select the style, size and format that is most effective graphically. If you like, you may indicate your preferred typestyle from the chart below.

Style #’s 2, 9, 10, 17, 19, 20 are not recommended for copy in CAPS except for initials or very short words.

If artwork is not submitted to size, we assume you want us to format and layout your artwork and copy. Also, if handwritten copy is submitted, we will assume you want us to typeset and format the artwork unless clearly noted otherwise. If the inside text or a personal signature is to be printed as handwritten copy, please make sure that it is submitted in crisp, black ink for maximum clarity. The cost for Garland to layout and typeset your imprinted message is $20.00 (x). A paper proof will be provided for all gift packet copy that we are typesetting or formatting for you.

Gift Packet Imprint Colors: Standard ink colors for your imprinted message on the inside panel are: Black, Silver, Gold, Copper, Process Blue, Reflex Blue, PMS 288 Dark Blue, PMS 201 Burgundy, Warm Red, PMS 186 Red, Pantone Green, PMS 349 Green and Pantone Violet. Imprinting your message using other PMS colors will cost $50.00 (x) per color. If no color is specified, black will be used. The inside imprint is on uncoated stock, so please remember to use the uncoated color selections for PMS matches. Hot stamping is not available.

Production Time for Gift Packet Imprinting: When camera-ready black and white artwork is submitted, your imprinted packets will be produced within 7 or fewer working days. When artwork needs to be typeset or reformatted by Garland, your imprinted packets will be produced within 10 or fewer working days.

Imprinted Gift Packet Samples: Actual samples for approval, or press proofs, are available at $75.00 (x) per color. Black and white paper proofs are offered at $20.00 (x) each. Press proofs are rarely necessary since the size and layout will not be any different from a paper proof. In addition, if camera-ready artwork is submitted to size, the packet imprint will look exactly the same as your artwork, eliminating the need for either a paper proof or a press proof.

Note: Our stock gift packets are very popular, and we receive many inquiries about their application in different programs. As you can appreciate, we sell these gift packets only with an order of our quality pens.
